CANADIENS SIGN FORWARD STEVE QUAILER-2008 Draft Pick

Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced the signing of forward Steven Quailer to a two-year contract (2012-13 and 2013-14). Because a knee injury caused him to miss his entire sophomore season, Quailer had another year of college eligibility. . He was drafted by the Canadiens in the third round, 86th overall at the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

Because of the injury to Brian Gionta, which took him out of the seaason’s second half, right wing on the Canadiens became a serious problem. Gionta’s replacements were a mixture of rookies and fourth line players and the results were predictable. Gionta returns next season but the Canadiens still have a major third line iissue to deal with.
