SCOTT GOMEZ SCORES WINNING GOAL IN ALASKA ACES DEBUT

Scott Gomez finally played his first game with the Alaska Aces of the ECHL Wednesday night in Anchorage. He scored the winning goal and assisted on another in his first game since he suffered a concussion in Buffalo March 12th.

Scott Gomez has finally decided to play for the Alaska Aces of the ECHL. The Aces are based in Gomez’ hometown of Anchorage. Gomez played for Anchorage during the 2005-2005 lockout winning the league scoring championship and MVP honours.



LARS ELLER – Signs Lockout Contract with Jyväskylä Finland

And now there are six. Lars Eller is joining five of his Canadiens teammates in Europe. According to the website of Jyväskylä JYP Eller will start playing for the Finnish SM-liig team on November 16th.

UNDER CBA RULES CANADIENS CANNOT BUY OUT GOMEZ CONTRACT

According the NHL’s collective bargaining agreement, the Canadiens cannot buy out the contract of centre Scott Gomez. Gomez finished the season on injury reserve because of a concussion, the result of a Tyler Myers check in Buffalo. Under the CBA, a player;s contract may not be bought out while he is injured.
