CANADIENS ADD TO HAMILTON COACHING STAFF

Traditionally, the coaching staff of the Canadiens Hamilton farm club has numbered two plus a periodic visit from a roving instructor. With a seeming unlimited budget, Marc Bergevin has added Donald Dufresne and Vincent Riendeau to the staff that already includes head coach Sylvain Lefebvre and Ron Wilson.

In just over six weeks Marc Bergevin has filled eight administrative positions while juggling the issues surrounding a total of more than a dozen free agents. For the most part, he gets a passing grade for sticking to a management game plan.



RON WILSON NAMED HAMILTON BULLDOGS ASSISTANT

Unless Pierre Gauthier elects to make a last minute deal, the final piece of the Canadiens off-season puzzle was put in place with the hiring of Ron Wilson as assistant to Clement Jodoin on the Hamilton Bulldogs coaching staff. Wilson will be entering his 15th season as an AHL assistant. He replaces Randy Ladouceur who, like head coach Randy Cunneyworth, was promoted to the Canadiens coaching staff last month. Wilson was originally a 13th round draft pick by the Canadiens in 1977. He was an assistant coach with the Bulldogs for a six year period starting with the 2003-04 season.
