SYRACUSE BEATS BULLDOGS BEFORE RECORD CROWD IN MONTREAL

The Syracuse Crunch defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 4-1 Friday night at the Bell Centre. The game was played before 18,582 hockey starved fans, the largest indoor crowd in Bulldogs history.



MARLIES SHUT OUT BULLDOGS 5-0 – Louis Leblanc Injured

The Hamilton Bulldogs were shutout by the Toronto Marlies 5-0 Saturday night at Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto. It was the Bulldogs first loss of the season. Louis Leblanc suffered a leg injury midway through the second period and did not return.



BULLDOGS BEAT TORONTO MARLIES FRIDAY IN HAMILTON

The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Toronto Marlies 3-1 before a crowd of 8819 fans in their home opener. Louis Leblanc scored twice for the Bulldogs. Other goals came from Patrick Holland and Aaron Palushaj.



CANADIENS NEED GOALTENDING DEPTH

At the NHL level the Canadiens goaltending is solid with Carey Price and his backup Peter Budaj. But, as we found out at the end of the season when Price suffered his concussion, the talent level drops off precipitously when the Canadiens were forced to go to their farm team for help.



CANADIENS RECALL GOALTENDER MAYER AND FORWARD DUMONT

The recall of goaltender Robert Mayer is due to persisting headaches being suffered by Carey Price which may, or may not be a concussion. Price suffered the injury apparently in a practice goalmouth collision with teammate David Desharnais. Foreward Gabriel Dumont replaces Petteri Nokelainen, who suffered an upper body injury Saturday in Washington. The Canadiens go into Wednesday night’s game against Tampa with nine players out of their lineup.



CANADIENS SIGN ANOTHER SWISS DEFENSEMAN

Canadiens GM Pierre Gauthier’s trip to Slovakia was not totally in vain. Even if he’s unable to sign Alexei Emelin, he managed to land Rafael Diaz, a defenseman from the Swiss National team and EV Zug. He was a teammate of former Canadien Glen Metropolit last season.



BULLDOGS BEAT ROCHESTER 5-2 (OCT.19/10)

The Bulldogs, keyed by two goals from defenceman Yannick Weber, beat the Rochester Americans 5-2 before 1,669 fans Tuesday night fans at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton. It was the smallest crowd in the fifteen year history of the Bulldogs. Weber has 3 goals and 4 assists to lead all Bulldogs scorers. Other goals for Hamilton scored by Alexander Avtsin, Mathieu Carle and Andrew Conboy.
