European leagues are into the final weekend before the December break in their schedules. Raphael Diaz, David Desharnais and Yannick Weber played their final games. Tomas Plekanec will play Sunday.
Lars Eller was the brightest light as six of the group of seven Canadiens playing in Europe on Friday night. Eller notched two more assists as Jyväskylä beat Helsinki in Finland’s SM-Liiga. Meanwhile in the Swiss League Raphael Diaz ran his point scoring streak to eight games with a goal and an assist for Zug.
Lars Eller is centering the Finland’s SM Liiga’s hottest line along with Rich Peverley and Eric Perrin. The Canadiens’ Eller, David Desharnais, Raphael Diaz and Yannick Weber all saw action with their European teams Tuesday.
Five members of the locked out Canadiens saw action in European Leagues Friday. Tomas Plekanec had a three point night, Alexei Emelin scored the first goal of his KHL season, and in the Swiss League Raphael Diaz with two assists, David Desharnais with his first Swiss League point.
While Andrei Markov remained on the sidelines with his rib problem, locked out members of the Canadiens played in Prague, Finlad plus Lugano and Zug Switzerland on Tuesday..
A busy weekend for locked out members of the Canadiens, most of them in Europe as well as some of the Habs Junior prospects. Lars Eller played his second game with Jyväskylä of Finland’s SM-Liiga. Others to see action were Raphael Diaz and Yannick Weber.
Two members of the Canadiens made their season debut in Europe Friday, Lars Eller with JYP Jyväskylä in Finland and David Desharnais with Fribourg in the Swiss National League.
Only two games scheduled as the Swiss National Hockey League resumed play following their twelve day November schedule break during which the Swiss National Team was taking part in the Deutschland Cup tournament in Munich Germany. Raphael Diaz scored two goals for Zug in a 5-3 win in Zurich.
The Swiss National League played it’s final scheduled games Saturday before the annual European November break. In the AHL Hamilton stages a major comeback vs. Rochester and Alex Galchenyuk has a three point night for Sarnia.
