CANADIENS TRADE LAPIERRE-Promote Desharnais

The Canadiens traded forward Maxim Lapierre to the Anaheim Ducks in return for minor league defenseman Brett Festerling and a fifth round draft pick. The deal came on the same day that the teams was informed that would be without defenseman Josh Gorges for an extended period with a knee injury. Earlier in the day the team also announced the promotion of centre David Desharnais, the AHL’s leading point scorer.



MARTIN JUGGLES THIRD/FOURTH LINES VS. LA KINGS

Canadiens coach Jacques Martin will make changes to his third and fourth lines tonight for the game against the Los Angeles Kings. Mathieu Darche, who was a healthy scratch Monday night in favour of Yannick Weber, will return to the lineup to play with Lars Eller and Benoit Pouliot. Tom Pyatt will be joining Jeff Halpern and Maxim Lapierre on the Canadiens other secondary unit. (read more)
