PACIORETTY FINALIST FOR MASTERTON-With Alfredsson & Lupul

One of the brightest spots on a discouraging season for the Canadiens was the return of Max Pacioretty from his Zdeno Chara induced collision with that Bell Centre stanchion in March of 2011. He came back with a 35 goals season and has been named a finalist for the Bill Masterton Trophy.

PRICE NAMED MOLSON CUP WINNER-Erik Cole Wins March Segment

After winning four of the six monthly segments, Carey Price is the Canadiens Molson Cup winner for the 2011-2012 season. Erik Cole finished second and Max Pacioretty third in voting based on fan three star voting throughout the season. Cole was named the monthly winner for March.



MAX PACIORETTY – Not Alone in the Masterton Trophy Hunt

Max Pacioretty as expected, has been named the Canadiens nominee for the 2012 Masterton Trophy. He is one of what will be 30 to enter the process which will decide a winner at the NHL Awards Ceremonies June 20th in Las Vegas. Among those who are likely to be listed for this year’s honour are Florida’s Tomas Fleischmann, Ottawa’s Daniel Alfredsson and the Blue’s David Perron plus, perhaps Sidney Crosby of the Penguins.



PACIORETTY-PLAYER OF THE MONTH-Louis Leblanc Recalled

Max Pacioretty has been named the Canadiens Player of the Month for January ahead of linemates David Desharnais and Erik Cole. The team practiced at Brossard Wednesday before catching their flight to New Jersey. Andreas Engqvist was returned to Hamilton after another one game stint and Louis Leblanc has recalled and will be in uniform in Newark. In practice Wednesday, Ryan White again centred the fourth line with Mathieu Darche and Yannick Weber but is still needs conditioning before he makes his first start of the season. Andrei Markov skated solo for 20 minutes.

PACIORETTY HAS DATE WITH SHANAHAN- And Other Sunday Stuff

Among other things on our Sunday review – Max Pacioretty has an appointment NHL disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan Monday morning. The league will also be talking to the game officials about the way Saturday night’s Pittsburgh game ended. The Canadiens penalty killers make news and the Hamilton Bulldogs are worse off than the Canadiens in the injury department.



THE HABS WEEK – Pacioretty, Desharnais, Injuries & More

Canadiens played three games last week, losing at home to Edmonton and then taking road victories in Phoenix and Nashville. With the back to back wins they again moved to even .500 for the season. Outstanding performances came from Max Pacioretty, Josh Gorges, Brian Gionta and David Desharnais.



PACIORETTY – A GAMETIME DECISION TONIGHT

Max Pacioretty suffered a slight ligament tear in his right wrist late in the second period against Florida Monday. It’s painful but doctors have indicated that he can play through the injury if he desires, or the pain permits. He’ll be a gametime decision against the Flyers tonight at the Bell Centre.



DESHARNAIS & PACIORETTY TOGETHER AGAIN

Outside of an exhibition game, David Desharnais and Max Pacioretty had not played an entire game together since December 12th of last year. At that time they were two thirds of the most feared line in the American Hockey League. When Pacioretty was recalled by the Canadiens he was leading the AHL in goalscoring and nineteen days later when Desharnais was called up, he was the AHL points leader.
