THE SUBBAN CONTRACT STALEMATE

P.K. Subban was not at the Canadiens Brossard training facility when their six day camp opened Sunday morning. Subban is locked in a contract stalemate, apparently looking for a long term deal that the Canadiens are not prepared to offer at this stage in his career.



PACIORETTY RETURNS TO MONTREAL-Reported Elbow Injury

Max Pacioretty has an elbow injury and his Swiss National League team has given him permission to return home to Montreal for treatment. Pacioretty played five games for cellar dwelling Ambri-Piotta scoring one goal.



HABS IN EUROPE SATURDAY- Three Assists for Raphael Diaz

Raphael Diaz, Yannick Weber and Andrei Markov all saw action with their respective European teams Saturday, Diaz and Weber in Switzerland and Markov in Russia. Max Pacioretty has been hit with a flu bug and missed a third consecutive game.

Two of the three locked out Canadiens playing in the Swiss National League saw action Friday night. Yannick Weber was part of Geneva’s tenth win in the season’s first eleven games and Raphael Diaz recorded a goal and assist in a loss. Max Pacioretty missed his second game in a row due to illness.



FLU BENCHES PACIORETTY – Swiss League Action Tuesday

Slumping Max Pacioretty was felled by the flu bug and without him in the lineup Ambri-Piotta suffered a 5-3 home ice loss to Bern Tuesday night., their ninth in a row.. Pacioretty has not recorded a point in the four games since he scored a goal in his debut with Ambri.

YANNICK WEBER STARS IN OVERTIME FOR UNDEFEATED GENEVA-Swiss League Hockey

For the second time since joining Geneva of the Swiss National League, Yannick Weber scored the winning goal as undefeated Servette edged Lugano 3-2 in overtime. It was Weber’s second goal of the game. Also in action Tuesday night were Raphael Diaz with Zug and Max Pacioretty at Ambri-Piotta.



CANADIENS IN SWISS LEAGUE ACTION SATURDAY

Raphael Diaz, Max Pacioretty and Yannick Weber all saw action in the Swiss National League Saturday night. Tomas Plekanec and Tomas Kaberle were idle in the Czech Extraliga and will be back in action Sunday while Alexei Emelin has yet to play for Ak-Bars Kazan of the KHL.

Highlights of Friday’s European hockey action. Andrei Markov admits to Russian newspaper he’s considering job offers with the Kontinental Hockey League. Scott Gomez is taking part in the training camp of the Alaska Aces of the ECHL but is unlikely to play for them.
