BULLDOGS RECALL CENTRE STEFAN CHAPUT FROM WHEELING

The Hamilton Bulldogs recalled centre Stefan Chaput from their ECHL Wheeling affiliate on Monday. Chaput was third in scoring for the Nailers with nine points in fifteen games.

Because of the injury to Brian Gionta, which took him out of the seaason’s second half, right wing on the Canadiens became a serious problem. Gionta’s replacements were a mixture of rookies and fourth line players and the results were predictable. Gionta returns next season but the Canadiens still have a major third line iissue to deal with.



HAMILTON’S IAN SCHULTZ SUSPENDED BY AHL

Hamilton Bulldogs forward Ian Schultz has been suspended for two game by the American Hockey as a result of actions in the game against Adirondak on Wednesday night.

If you need reminding, Schultz is the other player (along with Lars Eller) in the deal that sent Jaroslav Halak to the St. Louis Blues.



HALAK TRADED TO BLUES FOR FORWARDS ELLER & SCHULTZ
