Winnipeg native Dustin Boyd scored an unassisted goal six seconds into the third overtime period to give the Hamilton Bulldogs a 2-1 win over the Manitoba Moose in the seventh game of the AHL’s North Division final. Nigel Dawes, another Winnipeg native tied the game early in the third period after Manitoba had carried a 1-0 from midway in the first.
The Bulldogs will meet either the Houston Aeros or the Milwaukee Admirals in the AHL’s Western Conference final. Those teams meet in the seventh game of their series Tuesday night in Milwaukee.

Hamilton, ON – The Hamilton Bulldogs were defeated by the Chicago Wolves 5-3 in front of 5,101 fans at Copps Coliseum on Tuesday night. For the Montreal Canadiens it might have been a perfect week except…..Andrei Markov was hurt again, Dustin Brown was put on waivers and Ryan O’Byrne was traded.
The week started with a 2-0 shutdown of the Vancouver Canucks at the Bell Centre. Carey Price stopped all 35 shots, 20 of them in the third period. Markov and Hamrlik scored the goals. On Thursday in Boston another defensive masterpiece and a 3-1 win over the Bruins. Saturday night Carey Price kept the Canadiens in the game with 15 first period saves’
