NHL DRAFT LOTTERY STANDINGS AFTER GAMES TUESDAY APRIL 3

The Canadiens and Oilers remained in points while holding down the 28th and 29th places in the overall NHL standings. In terms of the league final tiebreaker, the Canadiens would wind up starting out in second place as teams go to the Lottery draft next Tuesday because of the wins-minus shootout wins calculation which puts them ahead of the Oilers if the season were to end today.



THE DRAFT LOTTERY – After Games Monday April 2nd-

After Edmonton was shut out by Los Angeles 2-0 Monday night, the Canadiens and Oilers remain tied in points but the Canadiens drop to28th overall in the NHl standings because of games played. However in the final tie-breaking system that subtracts shootout wins from the win total, Edmonton has 27 wins to the Canadiens 24. The Oilers now have two games remaining on their schedule. The Canadiens have three starting with a game against Tampa Bay Wednesday night at the Bell Centre.



OILERS WIN SUNDAY – CANADIENS DROPPED TO 29TH OVERALL

The Edmonton Oilers edged the Ducks 2-1 Sunday night in Anaheim. The two points moved them back into a points tie with the Canadiens, but Edmonton has the advantage because they have more wins than the Canadiens. Both the Oilers and Canadiens have three games left in their season.
