UNIVERSITY HANDS DANNY KRISTO AN ADDITIONAL ONE GAME SUSPENSION

Last Saturday the University of North Dakota hockey club held a rookie initiation party in one of the school’s dormitories. Police were called and as a result, the four captains, including Canadiens prospect Danny Kristo, were handed one game suspensions.
Subsequently, Kristo has been suspended another game for a further violation of school policy, this one unrelated to the team party. Kristo will miss non-conference games at Alaska-Anchorage on the 19th and 20th of October.



UofNORTH DAKOTA SUSPENDS CANADIENS PROSPECT DANNY KRISTO

Forward Danny Kristo, the Canadiens first choice (56th overall) in the 2008 Entry Draft, has been suspended a game by the University of North Dakota. Kristo had rejected an offer to join the Canadiens this season in order to complete his education at the school. Kristo is one of three players who will miss the season opener allegedly because of actions during a team party.

Because of the injury to Brian Gionta, which took him out of the seaason’s second half, right wing on the Canadiens became a serious problem. Gionta’s replacements were a mixture of rookies and fourth line players and the results were predictable. Gionta returns next season but the Canadiens still have a major third line iissue to deal with.



DANNY KRISTO WILL PLAY SENIOR YEAR AT NORTH DAKOTA

The Canadiens will have to wait another year before forward Danny Kristo arrives on the scene. Kristo has elected to play his senior year at the University of North Dakota. Kristo led the Fighting Sioux with 26 goals in 42 games last season.
