HABS COACH CLEMENTJODOIN TO ASSIST GERMANY AT DEUTSCHLAND CUP

Even NHL coaches are finding things to do in Europe.
Canadiens assistant coach Clement Jodoin is on his way to Munich Germany to help out German National Team coach Pat Cortina in the Deutschland Cup tournament this weekend.



GALLANT & JODOIN JOIN CANADIENS COACHING STAFF

Canadiens made the rumours official Thursday with the announcement that St. John Sea Dogs head coach Gerard Gallant and former Hamilton Bulldogs head coach Clement Jodoin will join the Canadiens as an assistants under head coach Michel Therrien. Along with his experience in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Gallant has seven years behind the bench as an NHL coach. Formerly, Jodoin was an assistant on two different occasions including briefly under Therrien in 2002-2003.



THREE ADDITIONAL CANADIENS APPOINTMENTS

Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin appears to have completed the formation of his front office with the appointment of Martin Lapointe to the position of director of of player development and the addition of Patrice Brisebois in the role of player development coach. Bergevin also announced that Sylvain Lefebvre will replace Clement Jodoin as head coach of the Hamilton Bulldogs.

THE HAMILTON BULLDOGS CHALLENGE

The Hamilton Bulldogs will enter the season with their fourth head coach in four years. In the off-season they lost two of their top scorers and a key defenceman to the KHL. As well, they lost two of the AHL’s best goaltenders to free agency. They will come into training camp with ten new players including six rookies.



CANADIENS FILL COACHING VACANCIES

The Canadiens filled their coaching vacancies in a series of moves today. Both Hamilton Bulldogs head coach Randy Cunneyworth and his assistant Randy Ladouceur were promoted to the role of assistant coaches with the parent club and Clement Jodoin was named head coach of the Bulldogs.
