HABS JUNIOR PROSPECT BRENDAN GALLAGHER SCORES SPECTACULAR GOAL

In a Western Hockey League game against the Kelowna Rockets Friday night, Brendan Gallagher of the Vancouver Giants tied the game with a spectacular individual effort. The goal tied the game at 3-3. Kelowna eventually won the game 4-3 in a shootout.



CANADIENS SIGN BRENDAN GALLAGHER TO THREE YEAR CONTRACT

The Canadiens have signed forward Brendan Gallagher to a three year contract starting with the 2012-13 season. Gallagher was given a long look at this year’s training camp playing in five preseason games, recording one assist (0-1-1), 14 shots on goal and 4 penalty minutes. He was drafted by the Canadiens in the fifth round, 147th overall in 2010.

GALLAGHER, BOURNIVAL RETURNED TO JUNIOR TEAMS

Forwards Brendan Gallagher and Michael Bournival have been returned to their junior teams; Gallagher to the Vancouver Giants of the WHL and Bournival to the Shawinigan Cataracts of the QMJHL. Finnish-born rookie centre Joonas Nattinen was sent to the Hamilton Bulldogs training camp.

No surprises in the three players the Canadiens assigned to their Hamilton affiliate today. Thirty-six players remain in camp including 19 year old longshot prospect Brendan Gallagher. Gallagher is going to get at least one more training camp look and then the Canadiens have a lot of decisions to make, starting with whether to sign him to an entry level contract at this time.



EXHIBITION GAME #2 – Buffalo-3 Canadiens-1

The Canadiens lost their second exhibition game in a row, dropping a 3-1 decision to the Buffalo Sabres at the Bell Centre Wednesday night. The star of the night was 18 year old defenseman Nathan Beaulieu, who led all players in ice time and assisted on the Canadiens lone goal.



THREE HABS PROSPECTS INVITED TO TEAM CANADA CAMP

Three Canadiens draft choices are part of the thirty-nine member group invited to the Team Canada Selection camp December 12th to 15th in Toronto.

First round draft pick Louis Leblanc of the Montreal Juniors will be joining Vancouver Giants centre Brendan Gallagher and the recently acquired Michael Bournival of the Shawinigan Cataractes.
