Blake Geoffrion suffered a depressed skull fracture November 9th at the Bell Centre in Hamilton’s game against Syracuse. He underwent surgery the same night and doctors expect a complete recovery although he’s expected to miss the entire AHL season.

The words of Danny Geoffrion, father of Blake who suffered a skull fracture Friday night at the Bell Centre and went into convulsions before surgery at Montreal General Hospital.

Hamilton forward Blake Geoffrion suffered what was called a “depressed skull fracture” when his head hit the ice after a first period check during the game against Syracuse at Montreal’s Bell Centre Friday night. He underwent surgery and the injury is reportedly not life threatening.

For the second straight night the Hamilton Bulldogs staged a comeback against the Rochester Americans. Friday night in Rochester they eventually lost 3-2 in a shootout. Saturday they scored four goals in just over 5 minutes to win 4-3.

The Hamilton Bulldogs came from behind to tie the Rochester Americans on Friday night but finally bowed 3-2 in a shootout. The game was played in Rochester.

Tomas Plekanec recorded an assist as the Kladno defeated Sparta Prague 5-1 in the Czech Extraliga Sunday. In junior hockey Canadiens first round draft pick Alexander Galchenyuk had a three point game.

The Hamilton Bulldogs played their fifth game of the young AHL season and their third against the Toronto Marlies. The Marlies edged Hamilton 5-4 in overtime at Copps Coliseum Friday night. In Junior Hockey, Canadiens draft picks Brady Vail and Tim Bozon continue to shine.

The Rochester Americans defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 3-1 Tuesday night. The game was played before over 10,000 fans at Buffalo’s First Niagara Centre.

Michael Bournival scored the only goal of the shootout and the Hamilton Bulldogs opened their season with a 4-3 victory at Grand Rapids Michigan.

Players on entry level or two way contracts are eligible to be returned to an NHL’s minor league affiliate during the NHL lockout. Louis Leblanc has two seasons remaining in his entry level contract while both Blake Geoffrion and Michael Blunden have two-way agreements. All three played a signiificant number of games with the parent Canadiens last season.
