BETTS HAS ‘LOWER BODY’ INJURY-Engqvist Recalled

Turns out centre Blair Betts has what is now being described as a “lower body” injury sustained in training camp. It’s considered minor but he won’t be in the lineup for the season opener tonight in Toronto.
Hours after he was assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs, Andreas Engqvist
was recalled and will be in the lineup on the Canadiens fourth line with
Yannick Weber and Travis Moen.



CANADIENS CLAIM BLAIR BETTS – ENGQVIST,PALUSHAJ, BLUNDEN TO HAMILTON

On the final day of training camp, a flurry of moves by the Canadiens. Most notably, they claimed faceoff and penalty killing speciallist Blair Betts from the Philadelphia Flyers. That acquisition meant Andreas Engqvist, who had seemingly inherited that job was assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs. Earlier in the day forwards Aaron Palushaj and Michael Blunden were sent to the Bulldogs along with Ian Schultz. The Canadiens also asked waivers on defenseman Jeff Woywitka.
