The new NHL CBA will not become official untiil the NHLPA ratifies it, a process that won’t be completed until Saturday. For a few NHLer’s, including Canadiens defenceman Andrei Markov, it’s an opportunity to legally squeeze and extra game or two before the Sunday opening of NHL training camps.

Alexei Emelin, Andrei Markov and Lars Eller all hit the scoresheet as their teams won games in Russia and Finland on Wednesday. In North America Scott Gomez had a goal and assist as Alaska won it’s sixth in a row.

Tomas Plekanec assisted on the winning goal in Kladno in the Czech Republic and in Russia Alexei Emelin was part of a Ak-Bars Kazan win on the road Sunday. Alexander Galchenyuk follows a four point night with a goal against Oshawa, his 20th of the season..

Lars Eller was the brightest light as six of the group of seven Canadiens playing in Europe on Friday night. Eller notched two more assists as Jyväskylä beat Helsinki in Finland’s SM-Liiga. Meanwhile in the Swiss League Raphael Diaz ran his point scoring streak to eight games with a goal and an assist for Zug.

Five members of the locked out Canadiens saw action in European Leagues Friday. Tomas Plekanec had a three point night, Alexei Emelin scored the first goal of his KHL season, and in the Swiss League Raphael Diaz with two assists, David Desharnais with his first Swiss League point.

The only member of the locked out Canadiens seeing action Wednesday was Kazan’s Alexei Emelin. Andrei Markov remained out of the Chekhov lineup for the second consecutive game with what has been termed a minor rib injury.
