All seven members of the locked-out Canadiens currently in Europe are now off for ten days as the leagues take their rraditional ten day December break. Tomas Plekanec notched another assist in a losing effort against Sparta Prague on Sunday.
There was mixed reaction to the Canadiens choice of Alexander Galchenyuk in the first round of the June entry draft. There were those who saw his statistics of two years ago. Others pointed out that he missed all of last season after a knee reconstruction. And then there was that slow start to this season.

Only two of the seven Canadiens playing in Europe, Lars Eller and Yannick Weber saw action on Saturday. Eller was in Kuopiu Finland while in Switzerland Weber and Geneva played host to Lugano. And in North America Alex Galchenyuk had his biggest night of the season in the OHL.
Five members of the locked out Canadiens saw action in European Leagues Friday. Tomas Plekanec had a three point night, Alexei Emelin scored the first goal of his KHL season, and in the Swiss League Raphael Diaz with two assists, David Desharnais with his first Swiss League point.
A busy weekend for locked out members of the Canadiens, most of them in Europe as well as some of the Habs Junior prospects. Lars Eller played his second game with Jyväskylä of Finland’s SM-Liiga. Others to see action were Raphael Diaz and Yannick Weber.
Alexander Galchenyuk continued to score at a two-point-per-game pace as the Sarnia Sting beat the Sudbury Wolves 3-2 Sunday night. It was Sarnia’s fourth win in a row.
The Swiss National League played it’s final scheduled games Saturday before the annual European November break. In the AHL Hamilton stages a major comeback vs. Rochester and Alex Galchenyuk has a three point night for Sarnia.
