The Canadiens have recalled Aaron Palushaj from their Hamilton farm team for the fifth time this season and the third time in two weeks.

The Hamilton Bulldogs ended a two game losing streak with a 4-1 over the Toronto Marlies before over 6,700 fans at Copps Coliseum. Brian Willsie and Aaron Palushaj led the Bulldogs with a goal and an assist each. Also scoring were Aaron Palushaj and Philip DeSimone. The Bulldogs, with Nathan Lawson in goal, outshot Toronto 28-20.



BULLDOGS BEAT MARLIES 4-1 IN TORONTO SATURDAY AFTERNOON

Led by linemates Andreas Engqvist and Aaron Palushaj, the Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Toronto Marlies 4-1 at Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto Saturday afternoon. Engqvist and Palushaj each had a goal and assist in the game. This was the second of three games the Bulldogs will play in a span of 43 hours this weekend. They host Oklahoma City Sunday afternoon at 3.00. Following a six game losing streak in early December, the Bulldogs have an 8-2-3 record.



AARON PALUSHAJ RETURNED TO BULLDOGS

The Canadiens Sunday returned forward Aaron Palushaj to the AHL Hamilton Bulldogs.
In 15 games with the Canadiens this season, Palushaj recorded seven shots on goal, four blocked shots and 11 hits, while averaging 6:36 of ice time per game.

The Canadiens recalled forward Aaron Palushaj from their Hamilton Bulldogs farm team today to replace the injured Andrei Kostitsyn in their lineup. It’s the fourth time Palushaj has been re-called in the last thirty days.



GOMEZ SKATES – Kostitsyn Leaves Monday Practice

Scott Gomez practiced with his teammates this morning for the first time in almost three weeks although he has not been cleared for any physical contact. At the same time, Andrei Kostitsyn left practice with an undisclosed injury. Gomez will not play tomorrow against Edmonton but will accompany the team to Phoenix and Nashville later in the week. Kostitsyn’s injury is in the process of being evaluated.



CANADIENS WEEK – Plekanec, Spacek, Price, Cole & More

The Canadiens played four games in six days last week, winning the last three against Conference rivals Philadelphia and Boston. It was a week that saw the dismissal of Perry Pearn from the coaching staff, the end of a six game losing streak.



CANADIENS ACQUIRE FORWARD FROM PHOENIX-Call Up Blunden

Losers of five straight games, the Canadiens today traded for forward Petteri Nokelainen and defenseman Garrett Stafford from the Phoenix Coyotes, in return for forward BrockTrotter and a 7th-round draft pick in 2012. Nokelainen reports to the Canadiens, Stafford will head for Hamilton. The Canadiens also recalled forward Michael Blunden from Hamilton and returned Andreas Engqvist and Aaron Palushaj to the Bulldogs.

CANADIENS CLAIM BLAIR BETTS – ENGQVIST,PALUSHAJ, BLUNDEN TO HAMILTON

On the final day of training camp, a flurry of moves by the Canadiens. Most notably, they claimed faceoff and penalty killing speciallist Blair Betts from the Philadelphia Flyers. That acquisition meant Andreas Engqvist, who had seemingly inherited that job was assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs. Earlier in the day forwards Aaron Palushaj and Michael Blunden were sent to the Bulldogs along with Ian Schultz. The Canadiens also asked waivers on defenseman Jeff Woywitka.
