Michael Cammalleri and Jaroslav Spacek are going to be out of the Canadiens lineup for between eight and ten games.
Cammalleri suffered what is being called a “deep laceration” above his right knee when he tangled with the skate of Yannick Weber in the seventeenth minute of the first period of Sunday’s game in Winnipeg. Fortunately, there is no muscle damage. Full recovery is estimated at between ten and fourteen days. The Canadiens will play six times in the interim.
At the time of the Cammalleri incident, Weber was back on defence following an earlier injury to Jaroslav Spacek. Spacek was checked into the boards by the Jets Evander Kane, suffering what is suspected to be a rib injury. He will be out of the Canadiens lineup three weeks or nine games.
Eller missed all of training camp rehabilitating last May’s shoulder surgery. He was only cleared for full practice last Thursday. He practiced with fourth liners Andreas Engqvist and Aaron Palushaj today but, if Eller shows sign of quickly shedding the rust of idleness, he mig t wind up ultimately find himself on the line with Tomas Pelanec and Erik Cole . Right now Travis Moen, off his performance with them on Sunday, has earned a longer look.
