The Canadiens are in desperate need of offense. I’m not sure former first round draft pick Louis Leblanc is the answer, but he seems to be the only option at this point in time with their Hamilton Bulldogs farm team.
The Canadiens recalled Leblanc Monday afternoon and he will take part in Tuesday practice before the team heads for Pittsburgh and their Wednesday meeting with the Penguins. Leblanc was with the Canadiens for five games earlier in the season, registering no points.
In 36 games with the Bulldogs this season, the 22-year-old centerman/winger has scored a team-leading nine goals and posted 20 points which is second on the team to veteran Martin St. Pierre. He has a plus-2 differential.
