The Canadiens have recalled defenceman Jarred Tinordi from their Hamilton Bulldogs farm club. Tinordi will join the Bulldogs in Winnipeg Wednesday and will be available for Thursday’s game against the Jets.
If Michel Therrien puts him in the lineup on Thursday, he will likely give some size to the third defense pair alongside Francis Bouillon. Yannick Weber has played with Bouillon the last four games.
Tinordi was one of eight players who were due to join the Canadiens on Sunday as so-called playoff “black aces”. The eight remained in Hamilton to continue practicing after the rest of their teammates headed home after concluding their season on Sunday.
Tinordi played six games with the Canadiens March 16th – 27th. His only point, an assist, came in his NHL debut against the New Jersey Devils.
Tinordi played 67 games for the Bulldogs and posted 13 points (2 goals, 11 assists) and 71 penalty minutes.
Joining the Canadiens Sunday will be forwards Michael Bournival, Louis Leblanc and Petteri Nokelainen; defencemen Nathan Beaulieu and Greg Pateryn plus goaltenders Robert Mayer and Dustin Tokarski.
