HAMILTON BULLDOGS DROP THEIR SECOND IN A ROW AT ST. JOHN’S

The St. John’s IceCaps defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 4-3 on Saturday night at Mile One Centre in St. John’s Newfoundland.  Eric O’Dell scored two goals and added two assists while Josh Lunden scored the game-winner with 26 seconds left in the third period.  The Bulldogs led 3-1 going into the third period on goals by Patrick Holland, Philippe Lefebvre and Tyler Murovich.  Nathan Beaulieu assisted on the first two Hamilton goals.

icecaps march 16Dustin Tokarski stopped 32 of 36 St. John’s shots.  Hamilton was outshot 15-3 in the third period.

The Bulldogs were missing their two top scorers, Gabriel Dumont and Michael Blunden plus defenceman Jarred Tinordi, all of whom played for the Canadiens at New Jersey Saturday night.  Healthy scratches were Alexander Avtsin, Antoin Corbin & Daulton Leveille.,

The IceCaps shutout the Bulldogs 5-0 Friday night in the first of the two game weekend series in St. John’s.

The game was played before the IcCaps  70th consecutive regular-season sold out game at Mile One Centre.

The Bulldogs’ next game is against the Crunch in Syracuse on Friday, March 22nd at 7:30 p.m.
