Game Notes –

…..With their 24th game the Canadiens reach the mid-point of their shortened 48 game season.

…..The Canadiens  were on an 8-0-3 run before the 6-3 road loss to the Islanders Tuesday.  It was their first loss in regulation since Feb. 9th and only their second on the road all season.

….Yannick Weber will make his first appearance since January 27th (19 games).  He’ll play alongside Francis Bouillon replacing Tomas Kaberle.

….Michel Therrien missed the Canadiens optional practice Wednesday and Thursday’s game day skate with an intestinal infection that forced him to Raleigh hospital Wednesday night for tests.  He is expected to be behind the bench for the game.

….Tomas Plekanec has 13 points in the last nine games against Carolina.

….Coincidentally, the Canadiens have gone 6-2-1 in those last nine against the Hurricanes.

….Max Pacioretty entered the game against the Hurricanes with 0 goals and 8 assists.  He scored a fluke goal on Cam Ward and now is on an eight goal and four assists streak over his last in nine games.

…. Michael Ryder tied a career high with three assists against the Islanders.  His first career three assist game was Feb. 26th at Nashville.  He was traded to the Canadiens 24 hours later.

….Carey Price has given up 12 goals on a total of 59 shots in the losses against Pittsburgh and the Islanders for a save percentage of .797.  Overall he has seen his GAA rise from 1.90 to 2.35 and his save percentage has dropped from .924 to .908.

…..Price has a 6-5-1 record with a 2.60 GAA and one shutout in 12 appearances against the Hurricanes.

…..Peter Budaj against the Hurricanes is 2-1-1 with a 1.23 GAA and one shutout.  ’The shutout was ‘February 18th.

……Despite Tuesday, Price is 5-1-1 with a 1.81 GAA over seven road contests.

……The Hurricanes are looking for a fifth straight win for the first time since a seven-game run Feb. 5-March 4, 2010.

….. Number one Hurricanes goaltender Cam Ward will be lost 6-to-8 weeks with a sprained MCL.

…..Over their four game winning streak the Hurricanes have outscored opponents 17-8.  The line of Eric Staal, Alexander Semin and Jiri Tlusty has accounted for nine of them plus 15 assists.  .

…..Sixteen of the 17 goals scored over Carolina’s last four games were came at even strength.

…..Justin Peters will start in goal for the Hurricanes.  In his season debut Tuesday, he made 37 saves in the 4-3 victory over Buffalo. Peters was recalled from AHL-Charlotte a day earlier where he was 22-12-1 with a 2.29 goals-against average and two shutouts.

…..Eric Staal leads Carolina with 28 points, nine of which have come during the current four-game win streak.

…..Staal and Semin are tied for the league lead in plus/minus (+17), and Staal is tied for sixth in goals (12) and tied fourth in points (28)

…..Staal is pointless in four of his last five games against the Canadiens.  Overall against the Canadiens, he has 9 goals and 10 asasists in his last 13 games.

….. Carolina is 13-3-1 when Staal records at least one point compared to 0-5-0 when he doesn’t. He has eight goals and eight assists in 10 home games.

….. Alexander Semin had a goal and two assists Tuesday  Eric Staal had a season-high three assists for the Hurricanes.
