METROPOLIT RETURNS TO EUROPE-SIGNS WITH ZUG OF THE SWISS LEAGUE

 EV Zug of the Swiss Hockey League has signed former Canadiens centre Glen Metropolit to a one year contract with an option for a second season.

Metropolit played 85 games with the Canadiens over one-plus seasons scoring 31 points.

 This is not Metropolit’s first venture to Europe. In 2003-04 and ’04-’05 he played a starring role with Jokerit Helsinki in the Finnish League. He then moved to Lugano Switzerland where he led HC Lugano to a league championship and won the scoring championship with 23 goals and 43 assists in 44 games. In Lugano’s championship run he added 9 goals and 17 assists in 17 playoff games.
