BULLDOGS SHUT OUT FOR TEAM-RECORD THIRD STRAIGHT GAME

The Hamilton  Bulldogs gave up shorthanded goal and then a power play goal in the first period and the Toronto Marlies shut them down  from there for a 6-0 win at the Ricoh Coliseum Wednesday. At the end of night they had  given  up threepower  play goals and the one shorthanded and were shutout a team-record third straight time; a total of 180:30 since Brendon Nash scored into an empty net in a 6-3 home ice win over St.  John’s December 29th.

It was Hamilton’s third straight loss and eighth in their last nine games.  The Bulldogs have AHL’s worst record  at 11-18-3 with the league’s weakest offense with 69 goals in 32 games.

Keith Aucoin scored twice for the Marlies.  Gerry D’Amigo, Joe Colborne, Greg McKegg and Ryan Hamilton also scored goals.

Cedrick Desjardins gave up five goals on 19 Toronto shots.   The Bulldogs managed only 14 shots on Marlies goalkeeper Ben Scrivens.

The Bulldogs host the Rockford  Illinois Icehogs Friday night at Copps Coliseum.
