BULLDOG LOSE TUESDAY IN A PEORIA ILLINOIS SHOOTOUT

Dec 18th, 2012 | By | Category: Hamilton Bulldogs, Hockey-General News

The Hamilton Bulldogs completed their four game midwest swing with a 4-3 shootout loss against the Peroria Rivermen Tuesday night.  Over the three games Hamilton was 1-2-1.

Ile Bezard’s Stefan Chaput, who is looking more and more like a Canadiens prospect since his callup from the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL, scored his first two Bulldogs goals in the game.  The hard-working Chaput was let go by the Boston Bruins last year and was signed by the Bulldogs as a free agent last summer.

Also scoring for the Bulldogs was Brendan Gallagher, his eighth goal of the season and second of the road trip.   Gallagher, a rookie, continues to lead the Bulldogs in scoring  with eight goals and also in points with sixteen in 25 games.  He also scored in the Bulldogs losing effort in the shootout.

For the record - in their four  midwest games, the Bulldogs lost4-3  to the Chicago Wolves Thursday night;  Saturday night they beat the Rockford Illinois IceHogs 6-4.  followed by a Saturday night 4-3 loss to the Admirals in Milwaukee Sunday and the shootout loss in Peoria.

The Bulldogs return home after playing eight of their last nine games on the road to host St. John’s on Friday night at Copps Coliseum.  Over the last nine games, eight of them on the road, the Bulldogs were 4-4-1.

Box score for the Hamilton/Peoria game is followed by  box sc9res from Milwaukee Sunday and Rockford on Saturday.  You can find the updated team individual stats at the end of the post.
