LOCKED OUT HABS SATURDAY- Lars Eller Leads Jyväskylä/Gomez Injured

Locked out members of the Canadiens saw action in Finland and Switzerland Saturday.
In the Finnish SM-Liiga, Lars Eller scored two goals and assisted on another as JYP beat Jokerit Helsinki 5-1 Saturday night in Jyväskylä Eller is centring a line with Montrealer Eric Perrin and the Bruins Rich Peverley. Peverley scored a goal and Perrin had three assists. In four games with JYP Eller has four goals and two assists. Another Montrealer, Ramzi Abid served the first of a four game suspension for a crosschecking incident last Saturday.
Canadiens teammates David Desharnais and Yannick Weber faced each other as opponents again Saturday as Fribourg edged Geneva 2-1. They failed to register a point in the game. It was Fribourg’s second win over Geneva in two nights.
At Langnau, Zug beat the Tigers 7-2. One assist and three shots on goal for Raphael Diaz who leads all SNL defencemen with 5 goals and 18 assists in 22 games. Detroit’s Henrik Zetterberg didn’t get a point but was plus-3.
In the ECHL, Alaska Aces centre Scott Gomez sat out Friday night’s 5-1 win at Salt Lake City with what his coach called a “tweak” which, we assume is a minor day-to-day type injury. In four games with Aces Gomez has 2 goals and 3 assists.
And in junior hockey Alex Galchenyuk had his biggest night of the season as the Sarnia Sting defeated Peterborough 8-2 Saturday night. Galchenyuk had a goal and three assists bringing his season total to 15 goals and 26 assists for 41 points.
The Kamloops Blazers and third round draft pick Tim Bozon edged the Vancouver Giants 2-1 in Kamloops. Bozon collected one assist. In 27 games Bozon has 16 goals and 22 assists for 38 points.
On the Sunday schedule - In the KHL – Ak-Bars Kazan (Alexei Emelin) will host Donetsk and Vityaz Chekhov will travel to St. Petersburg. No update on the rib injury Andrei Markov suffered October 26th. He has already missed six games.
The Czech Extraliga’s Kladno Knights (Tomas Plekanec) will be in Litvinov. The Swiss League does not schedule Sunday games.
The Hamilton Bulldogs will play the Lake Erie Monsters at 4.00 Sunday in Hamilton.
