LOCKED-OUT HABS IN EUROPE SATURDAY

It was Eller’s second game for Jyväskylä. Eller’s assist came on a first period power play goal by Boston defenceman Rich Peverley. For the seconnd straight game Eller had seven shots on goal. He played 20:37 . In two games, Eller has two goals and an assist all coming on the power play.
In the Swiss National League Raphael Diaz added another assist to his season total as Zug beat the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers 3-2 in a shootout. The assist came on a goal scored by Henrik Zetterberg. In 20 games with Zug Diaz has 20 points, 5 goals and 15 assists. Jason Spezza scored one of the goals for Rapperswil. Zug has won eight of ten games since Zetterberg joined the club. In those ten games the Detroit all-star has ten goals and eight assists.
In Geneva, Yannick Weber drew an assist but the Eagles lost 3-2 in overtime to the Kloten Flyers. It was Geneva’s first home ice loss of the season. Weber was credited with nine shots on goal.
David Desharnais and Fribourg were idle Saturday. Their next game will be Tuesday at Lugano.
In the Czech Republic, Kladno (Tomas Plekanec) will play at Zlin Sunday.
And in the KHL Ak-Bars Kazan (Alexei Emelin) will play Donbass in the Ukranian city of Donetsk Sunday. Vityaz Chekhov travels to Minsk Belarus Monday. Andrei Markov has missed their last five games with a rib injury.
In Friday’s late action – Scott Gomez was held off the scoresheet as the Alaska Aces scored a 5-4 overtime win over the Colorado Eagles at Anchorage. Gomez did have four shots on goal. After two games Gomez has a goal and an assist. The ECHL’s Aces have won five in a row.
Catching Up With The 2012 Draft Choices –
……….The Canadiens highest scoring junior prospect, Tim Bozon (3rd round – 64th) scored a goal and three assists as the Kamloops Blazers of the WHL beat the Portland Winterhawks 6-4 Friday night. Bozon now has 36 points in 23 games (15 goals and 21 assists). Kamloops is hosting Prince George Saturday night.
………In the OHL, Alex Galchenyuk (1st round-third overall) recorded one assist in Sarnia’s 3-2 loss at Sudbury. Galchenyuk’s season is echoing Bozon’s. In 22 games he has 35 points (13 goals and 22 assists). Sarnia plays at Sault Ste. Marie Sunday.
……….Brady Vail (4th round-94th) and the Windsor Spitfires are playing at Barrie Saturday night. Going into the game he had 24points in 22games (9 goals and15 assists)
……….In the “Q”, Charles Hudon (5th round-122nd) had one assist as the Sagueneens edged Rimouski 4-3 at Chicoutimi. Hudon has 11 goals, 12 assists in seventeen games. He missed six games with a concussion.
