BULLDOGS STAGE MAJOR COMEBACK-Beat Rochester 4-3 Saturday

The Hamilton Bulldogs scored four goals in a 5:19 third period span to come from behind a 2-0 deficit to beat the Rochester Americans 4-3 before 6,200 fans at Copps Coliseum.

Blake Geoffrion scored the first and fourth goals of the comeback with Brendan Gallagher and Michael Blunden adding the others.

Brendan Gallagher – Five Points Last Four Games

Gallagher has been on a roll with five points, 3 goals, 2 assists his last four games. Gallagher and Geoffrion share the Bulldogs scoring lead with six points after eight games. (Box Score and Updated Season Scoring Stats Below)

Defenseman Nathan Beaulieu had his best game as a professional. Beside playing a solid defensive game, for the first time he showed the confidence to involve himself in the offense and was rewarded with his first AHL point.

Other notable performances came from forwards Zack Stortini, Gabriel Dumont and Patrick Holland plus Jarred Tinordi on defense.

Brian Flynn with two and Nick Tarnaski accounted for the Rochester goals. The Americans are an affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres.

Hamilton outshot Rochester 34-27.

The Bulldogs will play two home games against  the Syracuse Crunch in the coming week, Wednesday at Copps Coliseum and Friday at the Bell Centre in Montreal. Syracuse is affiliated with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Games Notes  – With his goal,  Michael Bluden has a  four  game points streak going (2  goals, 2 assists).  Zack  Stortini scored a clear  victory over Rochester’s Nick Tarnasky in a heavyweight second period scrap.

    A very talented group of players and what a comeback !!!!…reminds me of the memorable CH comeback win over the Rangers. I know Gallagher is not very big but what a sniper plus he has the heart of a Lion . As for Blake Geffrion I think all hockey fans are extremely happy to see him up there in points…I know he’s no quitter but something positive happened…. maybe his grandpapa and great grandpapa have secretly been coaching him
