20-Louis Leblanc - Hamilton Bulldogs

The plan of Hamilton Bulldogs head coach Clement Jodoin was to play Canadiens 2009 first round draft pick Louis Leblanc on his team’s checking line with Andreas Engqvist and Andrew Conboy to take the pressure off him in his American Hockey League debut.  Leblanc’s answer was to turn the checking line into a power house. Leblanc assisted on the first two goals of the game and then scored the overtime winner as the Bulldogs beat the Americans 3-2.  It was the third time the Bulldogs had beaten the Americans this season.  They are scheduled to play them ten times.

Leblanc’s first professional goal, in his first professional game, came at 2:28 of the overtime period on a setup from Engqvist.   Leblanc stepped around a defender and scored on a low backhand shot t0 the open side.
Engqvist also had a goal and two assists.
The Bulldogs will travel to Albany, New York to face the Devils on Saturday at 7:00 P.M., before returning home to face the Abbotsford Heat on Sunday at 3:00 P.M.
