The Canadiens were swept in the two meetings last season and outcored 9-4.

….The last Canadiens visit to Arizona the Canadiens were beaten 6-2 Feb. 15th. Martin Hanzal and Oliver Ekman-Larsson had 3-points each.

….Arizona has beaten the Canadiens two of the last three at home and outscored the Canadiens 11-6.

….The Canadiens last win at Arizona was March 7, 2015, a 2-0 shutout.

Since the Nordiques became the Avalanche in 1995 the Canadiens are 2-9-2 at Denver and 8-14-4 overall.

….The Canadiens last win vs. the Avalanche in Denver was December 1st 2014 (4-3); the only other win was Feb. 13th 2009. (4-2).

….They are also the only two wins in Denver dating back to Feb. 6th 1982 when the Canadiens defeated the Colorado Rockies 5-2. At that time the Rockies were in the sixth and final year before the franchise was moved to New Jersey.

The last time the teams met was part of last year’s Super Bowl weekend at the Bell Centre– Saturday Feb. 6th, 2016; a 5-1 Canadiens win.,

….The Oilers have won 4 of the last 5 meetings between the clubs dating back to start of 2013-14.

….The Oilers have also won 4 of the last 5 at the Bell Centre and have collected a point eight of the last nine visits (5-1-3)

….Over the last 16 seasons (dating back to Dec. 30, 2000) Edmonton is 15-5-3 vs. Montreal and 8-3-2 over the last 12.

….The last four visits to Montreal the Oilers have recorded 3-1, 4-3, and 4-3 (OT) wins before losing 5-1 last February.

PREVIEW GAME #53 Washington @ Canadiens (Feb. 4/2017)

The Capitals have earned a point in eight of their last ten games vs. the Canadiens (6-2-2) and 21 of their last 25 (17-4-4).

…..At the Bell Centre they have earned at least a point in 13 consecutive games (11-0-2).

….The Canadiens (183) and Capitals(180) rank third and fourth in times-shorthanded this season. The difference is, the Canadiens penalty killing ranks 23rd in the league. Washington ranks 5th. The Capitals have given up 9 fewer power play goals; 38 to 29.

PREVIEW GAME #52 Canadiens @ Philadelphia (Feb. 2/2017)

.It is exactly one year to the day since the Canadiens last played at Philadelphia – Feb. 2, 2016 Philadelphia-4 Canadiens-2.

….The last ten games in Philadelphia, the Canadiens have a record of 1-9-0. Their only win at Wells Fargo Center over the seven seasons was Oct. 11th 2014 when the Canadiens erased a 3-0 third period Flyer lead and P.A. Parenteau scored the winner in the fourth round of the shootout. Andre Markov led the three-goal comeback with a goal and two assists.

….Over the same seven year stretch, at the Bell Centre the Canadiens have a 9-3-0 record vs. Philadelphia including their 3-1 and 5-4 wins this season.
