PREVIEW GAME #69 Canadiens @ Edmonton (March 12/2017)

Carey Price has lost seven straight against the Oilers (0-6-1) His only win came in his second career start against them March 10, 2009 (4-3 in OT). Saku Koivu tied the game in the third period and then won it at 1:40 of overtime. It was Bob Gainey’s first game as head coach after he fired Guy Carbonneau.

…In his three starts at Edmonton Price is 0-3-0 with a 5.00 GAA. His career record against them is 1-6-1 with a 3.75GAA.

Second of two meetings – @ Bell Centre Jan. 24th – Canadiens-5 Calgary-1. Canadiens led 5-0. Price lost shutout with 2 seconds remaining. Radulov with 2 goals, Shaw, Plekanec and Carr.

….The Canadiens have lost 21 of their last 29 games vs. Calgary but have won the last two, 2-1 in a shootout two seasons ago and 6-2 last season.

….Over the last 20 games in the series, the home team has won 14 times.

….Last season the Canadiens beat Calgary 6-2 (Oct. 30th, 2015). It was the first time the Canadien had won in regulation time since January 5, 2002. Their only win in a 13 year period was in a 2-1 shootout in October 2014. Over the last 14 years the Canadiens record at the Saddledome is 2-7-1.

PREVIEW GAME #67 Canadiens @ Vancouver (March 7/2017)

This is the first game of the Canadiens annual Alberta/BC-Western Canada road trip. Over the last 37 combined meetings in Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton the Canadiens are 12-22-1 with two tie games.

….The last Canadiens game in Vancouver was Oct. 27, 2015, a 5-1 loss. The game ended the Canadiens 9-0-0 start to their season.

Since Nov. 30, 2000 the Canadiens have lost 11 of the last 13 games in Vancouver including eight straight between 2000 and 2010. In the five games since 2012, the Canadiens are 2-1-2 at Rogers Place.

PREVIEW GAME #65 Nashville @ Canadiens (March 2/2017)

Second of two meetings. Canadiens edged the Predators 2-1 in overtime at Nashville Jan. 3rd. Pacioretty with overtime winner. Also Weber. Fiala for Nashville. Price faces 23 shots; Rinne allows two goals on 43 shots including five in overtime.

….The last meeting between the clubs at the Bell Centre was a 2-1 Nashville shootout win Feb. 22nd last season. Craig Smith with the shootout winner. In that game P.K. led the Canadiens with 30:38 ice time and Shea Weber led the Predators at 28:48.

….All time the Canadiens are 11-6-3 with 1 tie in 21 games vs. the Predators.

….The Predators have earned at least a point in their last eight games vs. the Canadiens
